As your therapist, we will provide a safe, confidential, non-judgmental environment where we can explore life events and stresses that may be impacting your ability to reach your personal or professional goals. We are interactive solution focused therapists, with a variety of therapeutic approaches.

We have found an eclectic (wide-ranging) therapeutic approach tailored to each individual, family or couple need to be most effective in assisting our clients coping with life challenges such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma symptoms, grief, self-esteem, parenting and anger management. This approach utilizes our training in psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral, solution focused and mindfulness techniques and promotes healing and desired change in a unique, gentle and respectful manner.

Like many journeys, therapy begins with where you are now, factors in where you have been, and builds a plan for where you want to go. It is a collaborative process. You are the expert on your life and with the right supports in place, you can discover your strengths and begin the healing process.

Meet Calissa

Education and Experience

A skilled licensed Clinical Social Worker, Calissa dedicates her time to providing competent, caring and effective behavioral health services to underserved populations within the ethnic minority communities in the greater Hartford area.

With over 15 years of experience working with children, at risk youth and their families, adults, and adolescents, Calissa is passionate about supporting and advocating for individuals, couples and families as they address life challenges, restore hope and rebuild feelings of confidence and happiness to live a healthy, productive and fulfilling life.

She has experience as a Clinician, Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director and Multi-Systemic (MST) Therapist and has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, in home and outpatient offices.

Calissa received her Bachelors in Social Work (BSW) from Saint Joseph College in West Hartford CT. She graduated with her Masters in Social Work (MSW) with a child and adolescent focus from Fordham University In New York, New York. Calissa has been trained in a variety of approaches including psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and motivational interviewing, and utilizes an integrative approach in working with her clients. Calissa believes that the therapeutic relationship is the single most important factor in facilitating change, and works to create a collaborative approach that will empower a client to identify and create the growth they want to see in their own lives.
